MLA Nagendra opens Gandhi Shilp Bazaar at JSS Urban Haat

Mysore/Mysuru: A ten-day exhibition of handloom and handicrafts ‘Gandhi Shilp Bazaar’ organised in association with Union Ministry of Textiles and Handicrafts commenced last evening at JSS Urban Haat in Hebbal Industrial Area here.

The expo exhibits an array of handloom products made from cotton, silk, wool and mixed yarns including sarees of various regions. About 70 artisans have also displayed attractive sculptures on wood and metal. Adding up are terracotta products and other fancy items.

The expo is open daily from 10.30 am to 9 pm and will conclude on Feb.9.

Inaugurating the expo, MLA L. Nagendra said that the expo has provided a platform for several artisans to exhibit attractive handicrafts.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G.  Betsurmath, Handicrafts Service Centre Assistant Director K.S. Sunil Kumar, Event Convenor Rakesh Rai and others were present.
