February 1, 2020

H.D.Kote: A 48-year old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her home in H.D. Kote town early this morning.

Devamma (48), wife of Siddappaji and a resident of Vishwanathaiah Colony in H.D. Kote town is the deceased. Devamma, a native of Heggadapura village in the taluk had married Siddappaji after her first husband had died ten years ago. Devamma was working as a ladies tailor, while Siddappaji was a mason.

At about 4.30 am this morning, Siddappaji rushed out of the house screaming that his wife had committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of a room, following which the neighbours came out and found her dead.

Soon the Police rushed to the spot and found the body lying on the ground. Siddappaji had fled from the spot even before the Police arrived, giving rise to suspicions that he may have murdered Devamma. H.D. Kote Police led by PSI Madhwa Nayak conducted mahazar and shifted the body to Government Hospital.
