MLC urges Government to release monthly salary of guest lecturers

October 23, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: MLC Marithibbegowda has urged the Government to release salary (September and October) of guest lecturers serving in Government Degree Colleges in full, without any cuts.

In a press statement, Marithibbegowda said that the Directorate of Collegiate Education had appointed guest lecturers for ten months in the academic year 2021-22 and the Government has sanctioned payment of salaries to them for the months of September and October. But due to the confusions over payment of evaluation honorarium, the salaries for the said two months have not been released, he said.

Pointing out that the Education Department has been paying salaries for these months in the past without any cuts, he said that the department should continue with this system this year too.

He warned that guest lecturers would stay away from evaluation if there are any cuts in the payment of salaries.
