  1. We need to do away with the centuries old system of citing moon with naked eyes standing on the terra ferma or the earth. We have so many ways to look for the crescent up above the clouds, if the sky is overcast. Take help of airlines and cite and send a photo of the crescent moon or request the state government to lend helicopter to go up above the clouds with all these Moon Committee members and look for the elusive Eid ka chand and declare the Eid on the exact day all over the country and the world over. It would also be appropriate to follow the Cradle of Islam from where Islam originated to fix the dates of future Eids. This archaic ways and age old system by or ulemas are making a mockery of Islam universally. Other religions are shell shocked at our helplessness at citing of Eid-ul-Fitr moon every year.

  2. Saleem says:

I believe, nobody of any religion has any rights to criticize any religion other than their own, however silly it appears unless their practices undermine the rights of other religions or fundamental rights of other human beings. The real problem with our religion and many other religions is, they want to advise and correct others and that opens up a can of worms! Also, when we trust our leaders who are buddies with extremists and criminals, tha gives the entire religion the bad name! So, it is up to us to identify such elements and replace them with moderates who are more tolerant to other religions, then, we are on the path of progress!
Nowadays, the problem is, even Afzal Guru who was dubbed as a terrorist by congress when they were in power, suddenly becomes a hero under BJP rule and many Muslim groups supported him! Similarly, if any terrorist is caught, if he is a Muslim, because BJP is ruling, many opponents try to dub him as innocent contrary to all the evidences!
Defending the indefensible gives the religions the bad name! We keep saying, Due to few Terrorist organisation you cannot blame the entire religion. We need to denounce them all
