MP and MLA perform guddali puja for construction of Pourakarmika houses

Mysore/Mysuru: Marking Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanthi, KR MLA S.A. Ramdas and MP Pratap Simha jointly performed Guddali Puja (ground-breaking ceremony) for the construction of Pourakarmika houses at different places coming under KR Constituency in the city yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Pratap Simha said that the ground-breaking ceremony for construction of houses for Porakarmikas has been performed under the leadership of KR MLA S.A. Ramdas at D. Devaraj Urs Colony, Vishweshwaranagar Pourakarmika Colony, behind Sewage Farm at Vidyaranyapuram and behind Sarvajanika Hostel at Vidyaranyapuram.

Pointing out that a total of 181 houses will be constructed at four locations under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in association with the State Government, he said that MLA Ramdas has evolved plans for making KR Constituency slum-free by constructing one thousand more houses.

MLA Ramdas, in his address, said that there are plans to construct 1,600 houses in KR Constituency with an objective of providing houses for all during the 75th year of India’s Independence.

Noting that the construction of 181 Pourakarmika houses has been taken up by Karnataka Slum Development Board, he said that he will make all efforts to ensure that KR Constituency becomes hut-free in the near future.

Floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at D. Devaraj Urs Colony marking Ambedkar Jayanthi.

Corporator Shantamma Vadivelu, BJP leaders Shobha Sunil, P.T. Krishna, M. Vadivelu, Vijay Nayaka, Ravi, Rajiv and others were present.
