MUDA begins Lalithadrinagar site distribution process

Mysuru: The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) will distribute nearly 820 sites of various dimensions to the public at Lalithadrinagar (North) and the notification will be issued on July 26. Applications will be issued from August 1 to 16 and the last date to submit application is August 26.

Announcing this at a press conference held at his office yesterday, MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar said that the layout has been constructed in an area of 145 acres and 820 sites have been formed. Among this, 541 sites will be distributed. Notification on the remaining 114 odd sites and 165 corner sites will be issued later, he said.

The MUDA has spent Rs. 72.50 crore for giving compensation for landlords who have lost their lands for the layout and has spent Rs. 56 crore to develop the layout.

The applications for Lalithadrinagar sites will be distributed at all branches of Vijaya Bank except the MUDA branch of Vijaya Bank from August 1 to 16. For Scheduled Caste and Tribe applicants, for ex-servicemen, families of Central Forces, Martyrs’ families and physically and mentally-challenged applicants, a fee of Rs. 50 has been fixed for the applications and the others have to pay Rs. 100 as application fee.

Division of sites

The sites have been classified and will be distributed as per the reservation provisions laid under Karnataka Municipal Administration 1991, 13(2). Applicants can fill in the applications and submit in the prescribed format along with necessary documents and a Demand Draft for the prescribed amount before August 26, Dhruvakumar said.

At the Lalithadrinagar Layout, there are 11 marginal sites, 11 sites have been reserved for Other Backward Classes, 35 sites for Scheduled Tribes, 88 sites for Scheduled Caste, 42 for ex-servicemen, 41 for State Government employees, 27 sites for Central Government employees, 271 sites for general applicants, 11 for physically and mentally-challenged, and 16 sites have been reserved under ‘H’ category for achievers of various fields.

Value of sites

For 128 20×30 sites, Rs. 1.55 lakh has been fixed, for 306 30×40 sites it is Rs. 4.34 lakh, for 71 40×60 sites it is Rs. 11.53 lakh, and for 36 50×80 sites it is Rs. 21.69 lakh.

Scheduled Caste and Tribe applicants, ex-servicemen, families of Central Forces, Martyrs’ families and physically and mentally-challenged applicants can pay 3 percent of the total value of the sites as advance payment while applying for the sites and the remaining applicants must pay 10 percent of the total site value.

Seniority rule

Dhruvakumar said that seniority norm will be followed when sites are distributed. “The same criteria were followed when sites were recently distributed in Ravindranath Tagore Nagar (R.T. Nagar). We will consider the seniority, their number of tries for sites. Those who have already registered need not submit registration samples. The DD or the pay order must be addressed to Mysuru Urban Development Authority,” he added.

MUDA Commissioner Dr. M. Mahesh, Superintending Engineer Shivakumar, Secretary Savitha, Town Planning Officer B.N. Girish, Special Land Acquisition Officer Chandramma, Member Shivamallu and other were present at the press conference.
