As part of Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Vardhanti during July many programmes are held in city. Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha is  organising a concert in memory of the great cultural ambassador  on July  29 (Saturday) at 6 pm by Vidu. Vrinda Acharya (vocal). She will sing the compositions of Wadiyar and other Mysore Asthana Vidwans accompanied by Mattur Srinidhi on violin, Ranjani Venkatesh on mridanga and S.Manjunath on ghata.

Vrinda Acharya has been recognised as one of the best Karnatak vocalists of Karnataka. Emphasis on bhava and clarity of sahitya, adherence to classical authenticity, eye for intricate nuances, wide repertoire and enthusiastic rendering of kritis are her special attributes which, coupled with a rich mellifluous voice, have groomed her into a proficient performer representing a purely classical school of music.

Vrinda’s musical aptitude was noticed at a very young age, when she would impress many musicians with her innate flair for singing, and get their appreciation and blessings. She had her initial training in Karnatak vocal music from Vidu. Shaila Subrahmanyam. She then came under the tutelage of Sangeetha Kalarathna Karnataka Kalashri Vidu. Neela Ramgopal. She also receives guidance from her husband Mridangam Maestro Vid. Arjun Kumar.

On July 30 (Sunday) at  6 pm, Aneesh Raghavan from Pondicherry will perform Odissi dance. A disciple of the renowned Odissi exponent Sangeeta Dash, Aneesh Raghavan has been trained under her in the Debaprasad Das style of Odissi, for the past ten years.

He is a B Grade artiste of Doordarshan and has had the privilege to dance before the former President of India Pranab Mukherjee. An initiation into Karnatak music at the tender age of four has helped him develop his talent in vocal which he studies under the guidance of the renowned vocalist and composer Rajkumar Bharati.
