Muzrai Department issues diktat

Bengaluru: Waking up after the Chamarajanagar tragedy, the Muzrai Department has mandated religious institutions under its fold to obtain prior permission for events where devotees volunteer to prepare and serve food to other devotees.

The Muzrai Department has stated that food prepared by devotees has to be checked by the Health Department before it is served. Kitchen, where food is prepared for divine offering and served to devotees, should have surveillance cameras installed.

Religious Institutions have also been asked to make sure that entry of unauthorised persons into kitchens is strictly prohibited.
