Mysore University Inter-Collegiate Chamundi Zone Women Games held

Mysore University Inter-Collegiate Chamundi Zone Women Games 2018-19 was held at Teresian College Sports Ground recently.

The event, jointly organised by Teresian College and Department of Physical Education (DPE), University of Mysore (UoM), was inaugurated by Raviprakash C. Anpur, Basketball Coach, District Youth Service and Sports, Mysuru, by releasing balloons. Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Director (in-Charge), DPE, UoM, was the chief guest.

Around 450 students, comprising 24 Throwball teams, 6 Kabaddi,  7 Tennikoit, 11 Volleyball, 6 Shuttle Badminton and  7 Ball  Badminton teams, participated in the Games.

RESULTS

Kabaddi — Final: Teresian College beat PGSC MGM 30-04; Semi-finals: PGSC, MGM beat JSS Women’s College, Saraswathi Puram, Mysuru 25-8; Teresian College beat Maharani’s Arts College, Mysuru 22-06.

Throwball — Final: JSS Ooty Road College beat Maharani’s Science College 2-1; Semi-finals: JSS College – Ooty Road beat Teresian College, Mysuru by 2-0; Maharani’s Science College beat JSS Women’s College, Mysuru 2-0.

Ball Badminton — Final: PGSE MGM beat JSS Women’s College 2-1; Semi-finals: JSS Women’s College beat Maharan’s Arts College 2-0; PGSE, MGM beat NIEFGC, Mysore 2-1.

Tennikoit — Final: Marimallappa FGC beat JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram Single 2-0 and Doubles 2-0; Semi-finals: Marimallappa FGC beat Teresian College  – Singles 2-0 and Doubles 2-0; JSS College beat Mahara Maharaj’s College – Singles 2-0, ,Doubles 0-2 and Revers Singles 2-0.

Rev. Sr. Anjali, Manager, Teresian Institution, Mysuru, presided. Rev. Dr. Sr. Sajitha, Director, Teresian Institution, Mysuru, Dr. Veena M.D. Almeida, Principal, Teresian College, Mysuru, Dr. H.S. Krishnakumar, Convener, Chamundi Zone, University of Mysore, Alfred Mari Delcasse, Associate Professor, Department of French and Sports Committee Member, were present. Dr. R.A. Vasanth, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry and Sports Committee Member, welcomed the gathering. M. Chethan, Assistant Lecturer, Department of English, proposed a vote of thanks. Anthony Moses, PE Director, Teresian College, Mysuru, co-ordinated the prog.
