Mysore University plans to hold Convocation in October

Mysore/Mysuru: University of Mysore (UoM) is planning to hold its 101st Annual Convocation during October this year, if Corona situation comes under control. 

Centenary Convocation of the Varsity was supposed to be held in March, 2020. But it was held online on Oct. 19, 2020 with address by PM Narendra Modi. “We are planning to hold 101st Convocation in October with a cap on invitees to just 200 that too if there is improvement in situation by that time,” Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, VC, UoM, said.

This time, the Varsity will give degree certificates to 25,000 persons including 8,000 Post-Graduates. Also, 500 persons will receive Ph.Ds. The Varsity is planning to invite Dr. K. Sivan, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to deliver the Convocation address. Honorary Doctorates too will be awarded to a few individuals in recognition of service in their respective fields.
