Mysurean meets watery grave at Melkote ‘Kalyani’

Melkote – An incident of a devotee drowning in the Kalyani (Pond) while taking a holy dip during the Cheluvanarayanaswami Thirthasnana rituals held as part of Vairamudi Utsava, has been reported yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Ravi (30), a resident of Bandipalya in Mysuru.

As Ravi, who went to take a holy dip in the Kalyani, did not return even after an hour, his wife Bhavyashree is said to have lodged a complaint with Melkote Police. The body was fished out today at around 7.30 am.
