Mysuru City Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet – 2024: Teresian College and GFGC Siddarthanagar clinch Overall Team Championship

Mysuru: The Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, Teresian College, in association with the Government First Grade College (GFGC), Siddarthanagar and under the aegis of the Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore (UoM), hosted the Mysuru City Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet 2024-25 for Men & Women recently.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. C. Venkatesh, Director of Department of Physical Education, UoM. GFGC Siddarthanagar Principal Prof. N. Mayadevi, Teresian College Principal Dr. C. Jeyanthi and others were present.

A total of 630 male and female athletes representing 40 colleges took part in the athletic meet.

Men’s Section

100 Mts Sprint: 1. R. Prajwal, GFGC, Siddarthanagar (10.75 sec); 2. C.C. Poorwik, TTL College of Business Management  (11.47 sec); 3. Danush, Vidyavardhaka FGC (11.49 sec).

200 Mts Sprint: 1. R. Prajwal, GFGC, Siddarthanagar (22.08 sec); 2. Druva Ballal, JSS STU (22.22 sec); 3. Bharath Giri Gowda, SBRR MFGC (23.41 sec).

400 Mts Run: 1. N. Druva Ballal, JSS STU (50.82 sec); 2. Bharath Giri Gowda, SBRR MFGC (52.37 sec); 3. C. Nikhil, Hari Vidyalaya College of Engineering (53.20 sec).

800 Mts Run: 1. Vinith A. Kashyap, GFGC, Siddarthanagar (2:07.69 sec); 2. A. Deepak, JSS STU (2:08.74 sec); 3. Anand R. Kumar, Hari Vidyalaya Composite PU College (2:08.82 sec).

1500 Mts Run: 1.R. Purushotham, PGSC, MGM (4:32.09 sec); 2. Anand R. Kumar, Harividyalaya Composite PU College (4:49.53 sec); 3. S. Shashank Gowda, Sapient College (4:53.19 sec).

5000 Mts Run: 1. R. Purushotham, PGSC, MGM (17:36.13 sec); 2. Arun Ekka, St. Philomena’s College (19:08.77 sec); 3. Deekshith, Sarada Vilas FGC (19:17.25 sec).

Long Jump: 1.Ganesh Kumar, Maharaja’s College (5.64 Mts); 2. Nelvin Sunil, Christ College (5.54 Mts); 3.Yuvaraj, Yuvaraja’s College, (5.50 Mts).

Shot Put: 1. M. Chandan, Yuvaraja’s College (10.25 Mts); 2. Raviprasad Mourya, Maharaja’s College (10.02 Mts); 3. R. Pradyumna, JSS College, Ooty Road (9.65 Mts).

Men’s — Winner: GFGC, Siddarthanagar, Mysore (20  points); Runner-Up: PGSC, MGM (20 Points, Championship decided based on the number of                         Gold Medals).

Women’s — Winner: Teresian College (38 points); Runner-Up: Teresian PU College (20 points).
