Mysuru: Senior Journalist A.C. Prabhakar (ACP), News Editor of Kannada morning daily Mysuru Mithra, the sister concern of Star of Mysore, has been selected for JSS Media Award for the year 2024.
Prabhakar was selected for the award by Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) at its Executive Meeting recently.
ACP, who has been in media field for over 35 years, has worked for many newspapers. His reports on the Police’s efforts to nab forest brigand Veerappan between 1990 and 2004, while travelling in the forests of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, is a milestone in his professional career. He also won a cash prize by the State Government for providing vital information and tip offs to the Police in Veerappan nabbing operation.
He had earlier served as President of Kollegal Taluk Journalists Association, Secretary of Kollegal Taluk Reporters Guild and Chamarajanagar Press Club President. He is currently serving as a Life-Member of Kollegal Devanga Mahajana Sangha. He was conferred the Karnataka Media Award in 2016.
