Mysuru Rail Museum to be illuminated during Dasara

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Rail Museum on KRS Road will be illuminated along with the extension of working hours up to 8 pm during the Dasara festivities commencing from Oct.15 to 24.

Visitors can have a breathtaking view of the illuminated large outdoor exhibits of the rail museum like the vintage steam locomotives, coaches, wagons, toy train, hand-operated crane, rail bus and steam fire pump from10 am to 8 pm.

The rail museum will also be open to the public on Oct.17 and 24, which otherwise are declared holidays. The entry fee for adults is  Rs. 50 and for children Rs. 20.                

Photography using SLR/DSLR cameras will be on payment of the prescribed charges. Eatables, helmets, baggages and backpacks are not allowed inside the rail museum premises, according to a press release from J. Lohiteshwara, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Sr. PRO, South Western Railway (SWR) Mysuru Division.
