Mysuru youth drowns in Balamuri

Srirangapatna: A 25-year-old youth, who had gone to Balamuri in Srirangapatna taluk along with his friends for a swim, has met his watery grave there on Sunday.

The deceased youth is Nikhil, a Lab Technician at K.R. Hospital and a resident of Gokulam in Mysuru.

On Sunday, Nikhil, along with eight of his friends, had gone to Balamuri and when they were swimming in the river, Nikhil got drowned. Nikhil’s friends immediately informed KRS Police, who rushed to the spot, summoned expert swimmers and divers to trace the body.

As it got dark, the search operation was stopped and when the operation resumed on Monday morning, the swimmers traced the body and fished it out of the river.

Based on the complaint from Nikhil’s parents, KRS Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
