Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised Suresh Mohan Memorial Nadakishorotsava 2026, a three-day State-level Classical Music Festival for youths, at Ganabhaskara, Sangeetha Vidwan G.R. Dasappa Mini Hall in Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha premises on JLB Road in city from Sept. 25 to 27. Main sponsor for the event is Sulo Mohan, USA.
The schedule is as follows:
Sept. 25 – 5 pm: Flute recital by M.K. Navaneeth; 6 pm: Vocal concert by R. Rashmi. Prerana Praveen on violin and Sumukh on mridanga will accompany both the concerts; 7 pm: TRK Brothers will present Vocal Duet with Srivatsa on violin and Yashas on mridanga.
Sept. 26 – 5 pm: Vocal concert by Prajna Adiga; 6 pm: Flute concert by Ankush S. Kadaba. Both concerts will be accompanied by Abhiram Bhat on violin and Shubhang on mridanga; 7 pm: Vocal concert by Prerana Praveen. She will be accompanied by Srivatsa on violin and Yashas on mridanga.
Sept. 27 – 9 am: Flute concert by Srinidhi Shiroor; 10 am: Vocal concert by V. Sriharsha. Both will be accompanied by Suditi on violin & Suhas on mridanga; 11 am: Flute concert by Sumeru V. Sakleshpur; 12 noon: Vocal concert by G. Soorya. He will be accompanied by Shruta on violin & Bhuvan on mridanga.
PROFILES
M.K. Navaneeth is the son of veteran flautist A.P. Krishna Prasad and the grandson of the renowned flute maestro late A.V. Prakash, inheriting a rich tradition of classical music.
Initially trained under the guidance of his father, Navaneeth is presently undergoing advanced tutelage under J.B. Sruthi Sagar.
Navaneeth is also receiving Hindustani flute training under Pravin Godkhindi. At just 16 years of age, Navaneeth has already embarked on his journey as a solo Karnatak flautist.
R. Rashmi, aged 24 years, is the daughter of H.S. Aswini and V. Ramesh. Having learnt from Vidu. Kalavathy Avadhoot, Rashmi is currently undergoing advanced training under Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar for the past 5 years. She has completed her Vidwat final exam in Karnatak vocal, conducted by KSGH Music and Performing Arts University.
She has secured State 2nd Rank in Senior Grade Karnatak vocal exam and distinction in Violin Senior Grade conducted by KSEEB. She is also a recipient of Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy Scholarship 2020-21 for Karnatak Vocal. She has given concerts in prestigious Sabhas and has won accolades.
Apart from Karnatak vocal and violin, she is also learning Bharatanatyam for 19 years. Having learnt for 14 years under the able guidance of Guru P. Praveen Kumar, she is currently undergoing advanced training under Guru Dr. Sathyanarayana Raju.
She is a B.Tech graduate from PES University and is currently working in Goldman Sachs.
TRK Brothers, R.V. Akshay, a Commerce Graduate & pursuing CA & R.V. Abhishek, who is pursuing his Engineering Graduation, are the Duet Vocalists.
They initially started learning Karnatak classical music under Priya Purushottaman, at the age of 4, then under Vid. Ashwin Bhogendra (student of Hyderabad Brothers) at Pune and are currently under the tutelage of Ganakala Bhushana Vid. Dr. R.K. Padmanabha (since 2018).
‘B’ Graded artistes from AIR, they are concerts performers winning the hearts of the audience.
Prajna Adiga, born in Udupi and currently based in Bengaluru, began her journey in Karnatak music at the age of five under the guidance of Vidu. Varijakshi R. Bhat. Since 2017, she has been undergoing rigorous advanced training under the mentorship of Vidu. Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh, with traditional gurukula-style learning.
Prajna has performed extensively across major Sabhas and festivals across the country including digital and televised music platforms. She has won innumerable awards and recognitions such as Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship in Music (2024-26) Scholarship holder, Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Government of India, since 2011. She is a Direct B-High Grade artiste from AIR.
Ankush S. Kadaba, aged 13, is the son of S.D. Suresh Kumar and Sumathi Suresh. Ankush started learning Karnatak Flute at the tender age of 5 under the able guidance of flautist Vid. Rakesh Sudhir. He is also learning vocal under Guru Vidu. H.N. Rajalakshmi and mridanga under Vid. A. Radhesh.
He is the recipient of CCRT, CTSS Scheme 2025-26 Scholarship for Karnatak flute from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and won many awards & prizes. He has given Karnatak solo flute performances at many prestigious platforms and stages.
Prerana Praveen, born in 2004 to Praveen & Pavana, is the disciple of Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy & Vidu. Ila Sangeetha Dileep. A graduate in Commerce, she is pursuing Vidwat/ advance level in Karnatak classical music. Started learning classical vocal from 2008 and has been participating in many contests winning prizes. She is a B Graded artiste from AIR in Devaranama. She has been accompanying on violin at regular prestigious platforms winning appreciation from connoisseurs.
Srinidhi Shiroor hails from Shiroor of Udupi district. He is born to Ganapati Shiroor & Susheela. He started learning flute under late A.V. Prakash & now under A.P. Krishna Prasad. He is also learning flute in Hindustani style in Bengaluru.
He has participated in many competitions & won prizes. He has also given concerts in many festivals & Sabhas throughout the State. Academically, he is an Engineering Graduate in Electrical and Electronics.
V. Sriharsha, aged 18 years, is a promising vocalist from Bengaluru. Pursuing music since the age of 7, he has learnt under Vid. Balasubramanya Sharma and mother Vidu. Sudhamani on vocals. He is also learning mridanga under the guidance of vid. Anoor Vinod Shyam.
Sumeru V. Sakleshpur, a 13-year-old boy from Shivamogga, is the elder son of Dr. Vikram S. Kumar and Dr. K.S. Shubrata. He began his journey in Karnatak flute at the age of 8 under the guidance of Guru Vid. Rakesh Sudhir, Mysuru. Sumeru is also a disciple of Vid. Sringeri H.S. Nagaraj in Karnatak vocal music and has recently completed the Junior-level Exam from KSGH Music University.
Understanding the importance of rhythmic knowledge for a flautist, he pursued mridanga training under Vid. Aravind Holla and completed the Junior Exam with distinction. He has performed in several prestigious events, securing awards & accolades.
G. Soorya, son of Prof. Deepa and Ganesh Shenoy, began his initial training in Karnatak vocal music under Vid. Shaili Upadhyaya. Later, he came under the tutelage of Vid. Hemmige S. Prashanth and is continuing advanced lessons under Vid. R.K. Shriramkumar. He is also trained in mridanga under senior Vidwans G.V. Krishna Prasad and B.R. Srinivas. Soorya has been performing for prestigious Sabhas and organisations.
He was notably part of the Karnatak music choir conducted by Vidu. Bombay Jayashri. Soorya is a recipient of Karnataka Sangeetha Nrithya Academy Scholarship from the Karnataka Government (2024). Soorya is also involved in organising programmes, having served as the Convenor of SPIC MACAY Mangaluru (2022-2024).
He is currently a Core Committee Member of SPIC MACAY Karnataka. Soorya is an Engineer by qualification and a B.Tech graduate from NIT Surathkal.
