October 5, 2024

Suttur: Nadoja litterateur Dr. Hampa Nagarajaiah on Wednesday sought the blessings of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, at Suttur Sri Kshetra in Nanjangud taluk in the district.

Dr. Hampana described the blessings of the Seer as the result of his good deeds, on the inauguration of Mysuru Dasara.

“Mysuru Dasara festival is the identity of the land of Kannadigas, language and culture. I am inaugurating the festival, as a representative of whole Kannadigas and the literary world. We belong to the tradition that has identified with Jain literature, Sharanas’ vachana and the compositions of Dasa. The ceremony resembles the gathering of Anubhava Mantapa,” he said.

Suttur Mutt is known for its social services across the world and the services rendered by the Mutt in protecting and nurturing the Vachana tradition, that has its imprint in all the matters of the world, by infusing energy to them, is worth laudable.

“It is the result of our good deeds that, myself and my family have received the blessings of Suttur Seer ahead of inauguration of Dasara,”  said Hampana.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji said, Dr. Hampa Nagarajaiah has made enormous contributions to literature. It’s not just for the namesake, Mysuru Dasara is indeed a popular State festival. Dasara is synonymous with Mysuru. Vijayadashami and Navarathri are celebrated across the country and Devi is also worshipped, but Dasara marks the identity of India. It is meaningful that, Hampana is inaugurating the Nada Habba.
