A classical extravaganza by male and couple dancers

Mysuru: Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre (VPAC), Mysuru, is one of the pioneer cultural organisations established in 1950, with the avowed object of inculcating love and interest in Indian classical music and dance among the citizens.  It’s been successfully organising three national level festivals from the past 31 years. Natarajothsava this year is the 32nd Edition of the three-day National-level Classical Dance Festival for young male and couple dancers from Mar.24 to 26 between 6 pm and 9 pm at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road.

The festival will be inaugurated by Kathak exponent Mysore B.Nagaraj, Artistic Director, Articulate Dance Studio. Savitha Ramesh, Director, Kaynes Technology, will be the chief guest. K.V. Murthy, President of VPAC, will preside.

Mar. 24 (7 pm-7.45 pm)- Kathak by Laxminarayan Jena, Bengaluru, disciple of Guru Mysore B.Nagaraj; 7.45 pm-8.30pm – Kuchipudi group performance by Abhilash Udupa, Bhavana  Anand, Gowri A. Murthy, R. Vaishnavi and Sujay J. Shanbhag, Bengaluru, disciples of Guru Dr.Veenamurthy Vijay.

Mar.25 (6.30 pm – 7.15 pm)- Odissi by Surajit Som, Bengaluru, disciple of Guru Sharmila Mukharjee; 7.30 pm – 8.15 pm- Bharatanatya by S. Vijay Kumar, Chennai, disciple of Guru Sujatha Parameswaran.

Mar. 26 (6.30 pm-7.15pm) – Bharatanatya by S. Vikas, Tumakuru, disciple of Vidwan Sagar; 7.30pm-8.15pm-  Odissi by Jagyandutt Pradhan and Somali Panigrahi, Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, disciples of Guru Bichitrananda Swain.
