March 22, 2018

Chikkamagalur:  AICC President Rahul Gandhi on a tour of Chikkamagalur as part of the third phase of the ‘Janashirvad Yatra’ visited Sharadamba Temple at Sringeri yesterday and offered special puja.

Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, Congress In-charge of State K.C.  Venugopal, KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwara and others accompanied Rahul Gandhi. Later Rahul Gandhi met Sringeri Mutt Seer Sri Bharathitheertha Swamiji and obtained his blessings. He also interacted with children accommodated in the Mutt.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Gandhi revealed that during the interaction, he asked the children the meaning of Dharma. He was shocked and surprised when the kids replied that Dharma meant ‘Sathyameva Jayathe.’

He was astonished that the children knew the true meaning of Dharma but not the Prime Minster Narendra Modi who is clever in telling lies at a stretch.

Earlier to that, Rahul Gandhi discussed for about 20 minutes with Sringeri Seer with no admission for anyone else.
