February 15, 2017

‘Natural Farmer’ Kailashmurthy of Doddinduvadi village in Kollegal taluk, Chamarajanagar, will be participating in the international seminar on ‘Soil Technology’ to be held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi from Feb. 26 to 28.

Kailashmurthy, a retired bank official-turned-farmer, experimented on his 11-acre land which paid rich dividends and the method adopted by him had helped in reducing water consumption in agriculture without hampering food security. A natural farmer, who lives and talks the language of nature, he believes in farming with just sunlight and water and promotes the concept of zero farming.

Kailashmurthy was inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka, a Japanese farmer and philosopher of the ‘One Straw Revolution’ fame.
