Mysuru: Dharmashree, grand-daughter of former CM late Dharam Singh and daughter of retired IPS Officer Sangram Singh joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with nearly 100 others in city recently.
A law graduate and hailing from an influential family, Dharmashree is an entrepreneur, handling multiple businesses like Fuels on Wheels, Sangram Services, etc. She has also been recognised as a young business entrepreneur by Reliance Group.
Speaking at a function to welcome such interested new joiners at the Party Office in city, AAP State President Prithvi Reddy said “After Punjab results, AAP is being a seen as new hope for change from existing corrupt system.”
He said that when he asked Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal as to when AAP should contest elections in Karnataka, Kejriwal replied, “This is not a decision to be made in Delhi or by Party office-bearers. This decision should be taken by the people of Karnataka.”
He also said that AAP will be contesting in all 224 seats in 2023 Assembly elections. The need of the hour is to strengthen the party at grassroots level and hence good people are joining the Party, he said.
Prominent people who joined AAP are: Former Corporator Akram Shariff, stage artiste and activist Girish Machalli, Nawaz Shariff and group from N.R. Mohalla, Shivanna and group from Hulimaavu, Irfan Razak from Kalyanagiri, Rangaiah and group from Jayalakshmipuram, Parthasarathy and group from Sathagalli.
