NEET-2026 re-exam begins in city

Mysuru: As many as 7,886 candidates have enrolled for National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-2026 re-exam for admission to Under Graduate medical courses, being held at 21 centres in the city, as part of the nationwide exercise, today amidst heavy Police bandobast.  

The students, who began reporting at the centres between 11 am and 1.30 pm, started writing the test from 2 pm, which will conclude at 5.15 pm, with additional 15 minutes provided to them. 

Following the question paper leak and other irregularities, that came to notice after the conclusion of NEET exam, originally held on May 3 this year, National Testing Agency (NTA) had cancelled the exam and announced re-examination on June 21.  

Accordingly, the District Administration has left no stone unturned in making the arrangements, under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya. 

The students were subjected to verification of admit card, frisking and bio-metric fingerprint, to enter the exam centres this morning.  

The exam centres in the city are follows: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU); Government PU College, M.G. Koppal; University of Mysore School of Engineering, Manasagangothri; Maharani’s Women’s Commerce and Management College; Regional Institute of Education (RIE); Maharani’s Science College for Women; Maharani’s Arts College for Women; Government First Grade College, Vijayanagar; Government PU College, Vontikoppal; Maharani’s Junior College; Government CPC Polytechnic College; Maharaja’s Junior College; Government PU College, Kuvempunagar; Government Adarsha Vidyalaya, Jockey Quarters; Government Maharaja Bifurcated PU College, Nazarbad; PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya; Maharaja Government PU College, High School division; Government PU College, Aniketana Road, Kuvempunagar; Devaraja Women’s Government PU College, Devaraja Mohalla; Government First Grade College, Siddartha Layout and Demonstration School (DMS).
