‘Nesara… Nodu’ musical event mesmerises audience

Mysuru: ‘Nesara… Nodu,’ the musical evening of Kannada poetic film songs, jointly organised by the Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mysuru, World Environment Month (WEM) Celebrations Committee, BAI Women’s Wing ‘Spoorthi’ and Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat, Mysuru, was held at MBCT auditorium on Akkamahadevi Road, Mysuru, recently.  

The unique cultural evening of songs describing the beauty of nature drew people in large numbers and the hall was packed with over 300 people. Organised as part of Environment Month celebrations, the event gave the gathered music-lovers a feast of songs along with environmental awareness. 

The dignitaries present on stage included BAI Mysuru Chairman K.R. Prabhakar Rao, Hon. Secretary M.D. Praveen Pal, WEM-2026 Committee Chairman C.D. Krishna, Secretary S. Vasudevan, MBCT Managing Trustee N. Subramanya, ‘Spoorthi’ President Shanti Bharadwaj and Secretary Veena Ashok, among others.  

On this occasion, BAI Mysuru felicitated Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat President Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy, who led the entire programme. Along with this, all the artistes, who contributed to the success of the programme, were also felicitated. 

Renowned singers Nitin Rajaram Shastri, Rashmi Chikkamagaluru, Lakshmi Dinesh, Narasimhamurthy and Tyagaraj captivated the audience with their melodious voices. The instrumentalists who supported the singers — Purushotham (keyboard), Gurudath (rhythm pad), Roshan Surya (tabla) and Puneeth (flute) — played soulfully to match the songs and enhanced the musical mood. The entire programme was compered by Yediyur Samiullah in his unique style. 

Overall, the rendition of Kannada poetic film songs, where poems on the beauty of nature written by great poets, were adapted in cinema, mesmerised everyone.  

The concert began with the chorus team’s song ‘Nityotsava Thaayi Nityotsava…’ and more than 23 melodious old songs describing the beauty of nature won hearts. These included Narasimhamurthy’s ‘Negila Hididu…’, ‘Bidiru Neenarigaadavalu…’ and ‘Elli Hodavo…’; Nitin’s ‘Tera Eri Ambaradaage…’ and ‘Mooduta Ravi…’; Rashmi’s ‘Moodala Maneya…’, ‘Nesara Nodu Nesara Nodu…’ and ‘Ibbani Tabbida…’; Lakshmi’s ‘Ee Hasiru Siriyali…’, ‘Jalala Jalala Jala Dhaare…’ and ‘Hakkiya Haadige…’; Tyagaraj’s ‘Ee Naada Anda Ee Mannu Chenna…’ and ‘Entha Marulayya Idu / Ee Desha Chenna…’; and Purushotham’s ‘Bangara Neera Kadalachegechigide…’  

Duet performances such as Nitin and Rashmi’s ‘Uttara Dhruvadim…’, ‘Doni Sagali…’ and ‘Oho Himalaya…’; Tyagaraj and Lakshmi’s ‘Kodagina Kaveri…’ and ‘Beluvalada Madilalli…’; Nitin and Rashmi’s ‘Ondirulu Kanasinali…’; Lakshmi and Tyagaraj’s ‘Koodi Baalona Endendu Seri Dudiyonana…’; and Nitin and Tyagaraj’s ‘Gandhada Gudi…’ took everyone present to a different emotional world.
