New hostel building in city to come up at Rs. 9.89 crore

Belagavi: Social Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the Social Welfare Department will build a new hostel building in Mysuru city at a cost of Rs.9.89 crore.

Replying to a question by Chamaraja MLA L. Nagendra during the ongoing Legislature session at Belagavi on Wednesday, Poojary said that the Social Welfare Department has received about 4,000 applications from four districts seeking admission to the Hostel in Mysuru city.

Pointing out that the present Hostel can accommodate only 2,200 students, the Minister said that efforts will be made to accommodate all eligible applicants in rented accommodations till the new building comes up.
