NIE hosts AAKAR Run for pedestrian safety

Mysuru:  As part of the biennial festival AAKAR to be held on Aug.31 and Sept.1, Department of Civil Engineering of National Institute of Engineering (NIE) had organised a 5km run in city yesterday to create awareness on pedestrian safety.
The run was flagged off by NIE Principal Dr. G. Ravi at the NIE Golden Jubilee Complex on Manandavadi Road here.

About 500 participants took part in the run which comprised men, women, Police personnel, NIE faculty and students. Three prizes of Rs.2,000, Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 were presented to winners in each category.

The run passed through Silk Factory Circle, JLB Road, RTO Circle, Court Road and back to the starting point.

HoD of Civil Engineering Dr. N. Suresh, Co-ordinators Punith Gowda, Mridul Ayyappa and others were present.
