Nostalgic memories of JSS Hostel Manager on Revannasiddaiah, IPS (Rtd.)

September 4, 2020

Sir,

This refers to K.B. Ganapathy’s Abracadabra titled “Nostalgically Speaking – 6: L. Revannasiddaiah, IPS (Rtd.)” in SOM dated Aug.23, 2020.

Truly an amazing article about a great person indeed. The very name Revannasiddaiah makes me nostalgic and I recall the innocent but ambitious young boy who had come to Mysore with immense amount of self-confidence and determination to achieve something great in his life.

He had taken the blessings of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji and came to JSS Hostel to pursue his further studies where I was the Manager of the Hostel. There was a special spark in his eye which impressed many and me too.

As he was a studious boy, I had special affection for him. Thus began the journey of this young and ambitious boy Revannasiddaiah in Mysore.

He completed his degree, became an IPS Officer and rose to high levels in Office with his undeterred hard work. He was and even to this day, is a very disciplined man, the best Police Officer I have seen in my life.

He has helped many people as an Officer which was his duty but he has taken a step further in helping many destitute children belonging to jail inmates and is carving a fruitful life for them. This quality makes him special and people love him more for the person he is and not for the fear of his khaki dress.
