Nrityagiri Monthly Dance Series – January Edition: Bharatanatyam recitals on Jan. 2

Mysore/Mysuru: Nrityagiri, Mysuru, will be organising Monthly Series of Dance Performances at its premises, #16/1, Preethi Layout, Srirampura, from January, 2026, showcasing exceptional talents in Bharatanatyam and classical arts.

The January edition will feature performances by Ashwini Manjunath from the USA, senior disciple of Nrityagiri and Anveshha Madhusudan from Mysuru, disciple of Vidu. Lakshmi Shavanth (senior disciple of Nrityagiri) at 6 pm on Jan. 2

PROFILES

Ashwini Manjunath: Disciple of Gurus Dr. Kripa Phadke and Shankar Kandasamy, Ashwini is an accomplished Bharatanatyam artiste, performer and educator, based in Virginia, USA.

She began her initial training in Pandanalluru bani under  the tutelage of  Vidu. Dr. Kripa Phadke at Nrityagiri, Mysuru.

Ashwini further refined her skills under the expert guidance of Shankar Kandasamy from Malaysia. Ashwini is currently being trained in Nattuvanga and Rhythmic compositions under Mridanga Vidwan Nagai P. Sriram, Chennai.

Her passion for Bharatanatyam led her to establish Nrityaloka Centre of Performing Arts in Richmond, Virginia. Under her direction, Nrityaloka team has performed at numerous organisations and conferences and notable events include Classical Dance Festival (Margazhi Utsav) in New York, Indian Embassy (Washington DC) cultural programme for Indian Independence Day and the AAPI (American Asian Pacific Islander) Heritage celebration held at Fort Lee in the US Army base.

Anveshhа Madhusudan: Daughter of P. Madhusudan and Sanjana Madhusudan, Anveshhа hails from Nanjangud, Mysuru. She is currently studying in Grade 6 at Kautilya Vidyalaya, Mysuru. Anveshha began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of 6 under Vidu. Meghana Rao and is presently continuing her advanced training under the guidance of Vidu. N.S. Lakshmi, Mysuru.

In addition to dance, Anveshha is passionate about Karnatak classical music and is undergoing training under Vidu. Prema Keshavamurthy. She has completed Junior Exams in both Bharatanatyam and Karnatak Music and is currently preparing for Senior level. Anveshha practices Ashtanga Yoga under Guru Yoga Kumar and has also trained in Karate under Sunil and has earned her Black Belt.

She has even showcased her brilliance in Modelling, Swimming, Gymnastics and Western Dance, winning several awards.
