Observers keep close tab on election campaigning

April 2, 2019

Mysuru:  With Lok Sabha poll fever becoming hotter and hotter every day, Poll Expenditure Observers have begun to closely monitor the expenditure of the candidates.

Now a straight fight between BJP candidate Pratap Simha and coalition candidate C.H. Vijayashankar looks imminent with both the candidates extensively campaigning in Mysuru and Kodagu regions.

A single window counter ‘Suvidya’ has been opened at the DC’s Office where political parties and candidates should take prior permission to print election posters, handbills and other materials.

If the poll expenditure crosses the stipulated limit of Rs. 70 lakh, the candidate would be served a written notice by the Observers.

A close tab is also being kept on lavish parties and marriage functions being attended by political leaders.
