Obstruction to motorists on public roads

December 2, 2021

Sir,

I would like to highlight that people constructing new houses and repairing are freely occupying public roads by constructing ramps and extending compound walls and staircases at the free space left between the road.

Local authorities never bothered to take necessary action against those occupying the road and free space thus causing obstruction to motorists on public roads. One such encroachment can be seen in Hebbal 2nd  Stage. The ramp is constructed dangerously occupying 1/4th of the width of the tar road (which is about 10 feet wide) and almost  2 feet is occupied by both sides of the houses. The road suddenly narrows down which may not be noticeable by road users especially in the dark. This can be very fatal for two-wheeler riders. I request the authorities concerned to immediately look into this, so that motorists can drive safely.
