One arrested for stealing gold jewellery kept in car

163 grams gold worth Rs. 7 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: Nazarbad Police, on Nov. 19, have arrested a notorious thief, who had stolen a vanity bag containing gold jewellery kept in a car, which was parked in front of the Income Tax Office in city and have recovered 163 grams gold ornaments worth Rs. 7 lakh from him.

A family from Chamarajanagar had come to city to see Dasara Flower Show and had parked the car in front of the Income Tax Office, during which the thief had made away with the vanity bag.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP M.N. Shashidhar guided Nazarbad Inspector K. Jeevan, Sub-Inspectors Vyshali Biraadar and K. Raghu and staff S. Satishkumar, Kiran Rathod, B.D. Santosh Kumar, Mallikarjuna, Savitha Maanappavar and P. Kumar of CDR Unit, in the nabbing and recovery operation.
