One killed, three seriously injured as tipper collides with car

Begur: A 55-year-old man was killed and three others suffered serious injuries when a tipper vehicle collided head-on with a car on National Highway (NH) 766 near Government PU College at Begur village yesterday.

While the deceased has been identified as Nagarajappa, the seriously injured are Manjunath, Kavya and Shylaja, who are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mysuru.

Nagarajappa, along with others were proceeding in a car from Gundlupet to Bengaluru, when the tipper vehicle, coming from Hirikaati towards Begur, collided head-on with the car resulting in all four occupants of the car sustaining serious injuries.

Passersby shifted the injured to Begur PHC and later shifted them to a private hospital in Mysuru, where Nagarajappa succumbed to injuries. Begur Police have registered a case.
