One killed, two injured as tree falls on vehicle

Gonikoppal: One person was killed on the spot while two others sustained serious injuries when a tree fell on the Tata Ace vehicle which was ferrying them at Hosalli near Polibetta in Kodagu yesterday.

While the deceased has been identified as Raju (35), a resident of Hanagodu in Hunsur taluk, the injured have been identified as 35-year-old Swamy and 28-year-old Sunil. Swamy has been admitted to Polibetta Community Health Centre and Sunil has been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru.

The deceased and the injured, after finishing their work at an estate in Polibetta, were returning in the Tata Ace vehicle via Thithimatti, when a Silver Oak tree fell on the vehicle. Raju, who was seated in the front seat, suffered severe injuries and died on-the-spot due to severe bleeding.

Siddapura Police are investigating the case.
