Manjula was the daughter of Somaiah, a resident of Bettathur. She was studying in 10th standard at Mademaheshwara High School at Madenadu. As there was just one bus plying towards Madenadu, Somaiah has made arrangements for his daughter to stay at Basappa’s house, a relative at Jodupala.
