Online property tax collection: Why this delay by MCC?

April 26, 2020

Sir,

Even after much hype starting from the past 6 months we have been hearing and reading that property tax collection will be made online from 1st April 2020.

We have also read that loading of data is completed and trials are on.

What is the delay in implementing? Why MCC is not interested in collecting tax online? Is it just a gimmick employed to drain tax-payer’s money?

Surely, MCC Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner are answerable for this delay.
