Online workshop for Urdu Professors

Mysore/Mysuru: A five-day online Training-cum-Workshop on Testing and Evaluation for Assistant Professors, Lecturers and Research Scholars of Urdu, was held at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, recently. 

In his inaugural address, Prof. P.R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Professor-cum-Deputy Director and Head, Centre for Testing and Evaluation briefed about the activities of CIIL. He also emphasised on the activities and substantial developments of the NTS-I accomplished in the area of testing and evaluation. 

Dr. Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer In-charge of NTS-I, briefed about the objectives of the workshop. He said that teachers must include due scientific methodologies, tools and techniques in their various academic assignments such as setting of question papers, preparation of teaching-learning material, performance evaluation, etc. 

The experts who delivered lectures are Prof. Sajid Jamal, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University, UP; Prof.  Z.R. Siddiqui, Department of Urdu, Aligarh Muslim University; Dr. Zubair Shadab Khan, Associate Professor, CPDMT, Aligarh Muslim University; Dr. Md. Rizwan, Assistant Professor, Department of Persian, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. NTS-I Junior Resource Persons (Academic-Urdu)  Dr.  G. M. Ansari, Dr. Md. Saleem Ahmed and Dr. Taiyab Ali Khan organised the workshop under the coordinatorship of Dr. Pankaj Dwivedi and Prof. P. R. Dharmesh Fernandez. Prof. C. G. Venkatesha Murthy, Director, CIIL, Mysuru, was the overall patron of the workshop. 

About 60 teachers, research scholars, who are engaged in teaching and research of Urdu from various Higher Secondary Schools, Universities and Colleges of India, participated in this online training workshop.
