Open book exam held on experimental basis in city

August 7, 2018

Mysuru: Taking a cue from Primary and Secondary Education Minister N. Mahesh’s recent statement that he was for an open book exam system, the Nrupatunga Kannada School in Ramakrishnanagar held an open book exam for 5th to 10th standard students on an experimental basis this morning.

Each of the class was allowed to choose one subject, barring Mathematics, in the open book exam of one hour duration that took place between 10.30 am and 11.30 am.

School Secretary and Kannada activist S. R. Sudarshan, speaking to SOM, said that a total of 150 students wrote this exam. The outcome of the exam will be assessed in a week and a report in this regard will be submitted to the Government in a week for consideration, he pointed out.
