Open Gangothri campus for morning walkers

October 31, 2020

Sir,

The sprawling Manasagangothri campus, often awash with morning walkers and joggers, wears a deserted look.

The Government has unlocked the economy; domestic flights, buses, metros are operating. Even gyms and theatres were given a go-ahead signal. At a time when everybody has access to everything and anything, health conscious people who are often wedded to such places like Manasagangothri for a walk or jog during the morning hours are deprived of the entry.

As a result people are compelled to reach a nearby destination — Kukkarahalli Lake — to keep themselves fit. A place which is already bustling with people, adds weight to a sinking ship.

Hence, I request Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar to throw open Manasagangothri campus for public at least between 5.30 am and 8 am.
