Various organisations including the BJP and DSS staged separate protests in front of the DC’s office here this morning.
BJP: Accusing the Communist Government in Kerala of perpetrating relentless attacks on RSS and other Sangh Parivar outfits, nearly 300 activists of the city BJP unit staged a massive demonstration in front of DC’s office here this morning.
Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, addressing the protesters, said that the BJP and Sangh Parivar outfits were getting deep-rooted in Kerala with each passing day. But the Communist Government in Kerala, unable to digest the growing popularity of BJP, is indulging in attacks on BJP and RSS workers in order to scare them. But the communists must realise that perpetrating such attacks would not deter the BJP workers, who are ready to give a fitting reply to the communists, he said.
Claiming that violence and atrocities against women have risen sharply ever since Pinarayi Vijayan became the Chief Minister, he said that the BJP was staging the protest today to send a message to the communists that the BJP workers would not hesitate to pay back the communists with the same coin. Referring to Vijayan’s compliment to Karnataka Government for giving protection during a communal harmony meet held in Mangaluru recently, Simha said that the complimentary message shows that the Congress and communists were no different from each other.
Lashing out at Minister U.T. Khader’s ‘Chappal’ remark at Mangaluru event, the MP said that the comment had severely embarrassed the people of Dakshina Kannada. Reacting to Congress leaders claims that the party had made many sacrifices for the sake of Independence, Simha said that the present day Congress was totally different from pre-Independence Congress.
Referring to the Congress Government’s attempts to revive cases against B.S. Yeddyurappa (BSY), the MP said that CM Siddharamaiah had no moral right to speak about others, as he himself was mired in corruption.
Stating that the Congress had filed false charges against Yeddyurappa, the MP said that the Supreme Court dismissed most of the cases and any attempts by the Siddu Govt. to target BSY would be futile.
Former Minister and MLA C.T. Ravi, former Minister S.A. Ramdas, RSS leader M. Venkataram, City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, Ganjam Adi Shankar Mutt Seer Ganesh Swaroopananda Swamiji and others took part in the protest.
DSS: Urging the State Govt. to file a review petition against the recent Supreme Court ruling that SC and ST members cannot claim quota as a right in Govt. job promotions, Members of Karnataka State Dalita Sangarsha Samithi (DSS) staged a protest this morning.
The protesters claimed that the Apex Court ruling was detrimental to the interests of SC and ST employees and demanded that the State Government file a review petition in order to provide justice to SC and ST employees.
