Over 100 women screened for breast and cervical cancer

Two-day screening camp held at Avant BKG Hospitals

Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to create awareness about breast and cervical cancers, two of the most prevalent cancers affecting women and to provide screening services to the community, Avant BKG Hospitals, in collaboration with Association of Gynaec Oncologists of India-Karnataka State Chapter  (AGOI-KSC), KIDWAI Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, Spoorthi Foundation (Ladies wing of Builder’s Association of India, Mysuru) and Poorna Sudha Cancer Foundation, Bengaluru, conducted a two-day screening camp for breast and cervical cancers at Avant BKG Hospitals on the Ring Road, Bogadi, in city recently. More than 100 women from Spoorthi Foundation underwent screening for breast and cervical cancers.

Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO K.M. Gayathri, who was the chief guest, said: “This initiative is a commendable effort towards enhancing women’s health in our community. Early detection and awareness are crucial in the fight against cancer and it is heartening to see such a proactive approach being taken to provide them with these vital services.”

Event featured talk on Cervical Cancer by Dr. T.S. Premalatha, President-Elect of AGOI-KSC and a talk on Breast Cancer by Pratima Shankar of Poorna Sudha Cancer Foundation.

Secretary of AGOI-KSC, Dr. Raeesa Tanveer, Consultant Gynaecologist at Avant BKG Hospitals, Dr. Bhavani, Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr. Pooja and Dr. Srinidhi from KIDWAI, Bengaluru, Ramadevi Srikanth, President of Spoorthi Foundation, Veena Ashok, A.R. Manjunath, Facility Director at Avant BKG Hospitals, Doctors, staff and others were present.
