Over 21,000 voters register in Special Enrolment Drive

Over 21,217 voters  across the district have applied for enrolment in the Minchina Nondani (Special Voter Enrolment Drive) held from   Jan.6 to 10. The enrolment drive was held in Krishnaraja, Chamaraja, Narasimharaja, Chamundeshwari, K.R. Nagar, Periyapatna, Hunsur, H.D. Kote, Varuna, Nanjangud and T. Narasipur Assembly segments of the district. Out of 21,217 applications received, 13,957 applications were from young voters aged between 18 and 19 years, of which 7,399 are male and 6,557 female voters. Also, 7,260 applications were received from voters aged over 20 years, of which 3,674 were men and 3,584 were women voters. While Hunsur Assembly segment recorded the highest enrolment of 3,105 voters, Krishnaraja recorded the lowest with just 993 voters.  Although the voter registration concluded on Jan.10, the enrolment drive is a continuous process. Eligible voters can enrol at their respective Taluk Offices and those living in the city at the MCC Office.
