Mysuru: A Lecture on ‘X-ray and Crystallography –  An overview’ was organised by the Physics Department of NIE-IT, for the first year Engineering students at the college premises recently.  It was held as part of a lecture series programme titled SPECTRUM – A special activity forum of the Department.

Dr. S. Naveen, Professor, Jain School of Engineering and Technology, Bengaluru, in his lecture highlighted the sole importance of XRD (X-ray powder diffraction) techniques and its applications in the field of drug design and imparted training to students about the various bio-molecular crystal structures.

The programme was presided by Dr.T. Ananthapadmanabha, Principal, NIEIT, who pointed out the relevance of the current Nano Science and Technology with ancient technological applications that existed in epics of Hindu literature Ramayana and Mahabharata.
