Drawing contest for children tomorrow

Mysuru, Sept. 3 (US&MTY)- P.R. Thippeswamy Pratishtana and Department of Kannada and Culture have organised a drawing contest for children tomorrow at 10.30 am and ‘Kala Sambhrama’ on Sept. 5 at 11.30 am at Sri Kalaniketana School of Arts in Vijayanagar here.

Disclosing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here on Sunday, Pratishtana President Rajashekar Kadamba said that the ‘Kala Sambhrama’

on Sept. 5 would be inaugurated by Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam which features a State-level painting expo, a seminar and awards ceremony.

Painting artist B.R. Korthy from Davanagere and folk artiste Manjamma Jogathi from Hospet have been selected for the award which carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, which would be presented by  Writer Dr. Baragur Ramachandrappa.

The painting expo will feature over 200 exhibits and nine would be selected for awards with each artists getting Rs. 5,000.

The drawing contest for children will be held under four categories with each having three prizes of Rs. 1,000, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 respectively.
