P. Venkataswamy (67), former Additional Superintendent of Police and residing in Bengaluru, passed away yesterday at a private hospital there. He had served as the Additional SP of Mysuru for about two years.

He leaves behind two sons Mithun Shilpi, a Police Inspector in Bengaluru and Adhikar Shilpi, a Software Engineer at Bengaluru and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at his native place Aranakatte village, Hiriyur taluk in Chitradurga district today, according to family sources.
