Padmini Ponnappa quits JD(S)

Gonikoppa:  In a significant political development in Kodagu district, State JD(S) General Secretary Maangera Padmini Ponnappa of Thithimathi, has quit the party. She has submitted her resignation letter to State JD(S) President H.K. Kumaraswamy.

Padmini, who was with the Congress for years, had joined JD(S) after she was denied Congress ticket from Virajpet Constituency in the 2018 Assembly polls. Beginning her political career with the Congress, Padmini had served as Vice-Chairperson of Karnataka State Forest Development Corporation (KSFDC) when Siddharamaiah was the Chief Minister. Upset over being denied the Congress ticket, she quit the party and joined JD(S) in the presence of  Party Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda at Bengaluru a few days before the 2018 polls. 

Now she has quit JD(S), citing that she cannot continue for inevitable reasons.
