Pakeezah actress Geeta Kapoor no more

Mumbai: Veteran actress Geeta Kapoor, who’s known for her role in Kamal Amrohi’s Pakeezah, paseed away yesterday morning at Mumbai’s SRV Hospital. She was 57.

The actress played the character of Rajkumar’s second wife in Pakeezah and was abandoned by her son last year at a hospital and never came back.

CBFC Member Ashoke Pandit and filmmaker Rakesh Taurani had stepped forward to pay her pending Hospital bills and she was then sent to a friendlt oldage home.

The news of Geeta Kapoor’s sad demise was confirmed by Ashoke Pandit who tweeted yesterday: “Her body will be kept at Cooper Hospital Vileparle for two days hoping her Children to come and atleast do the last rites Otherwise We wl do our best to bid her a  dignified good bye..”
