IT Parks to be set up in Mysuru and other cities: Priyank Kharge

March 24, 2017

IT and Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge has said that IT Parks will be set up in all 2-tier cities of the State.

Replying to a question by Moinuddin Bava of the Congress during question hour in the Assembly yesterday, Priyank said IT Parks would come up in Mysuru, Mangaluru and Dharwad. Maintaining that the Govt. was doing everything to promote the IT sector in the State, Priyank said the IT parks will be modelled on the characteristics of the location cities.

He said that the Government was mulling to hike the subsidy for purchase of tourist vehicles to unemployed SC/ST candidates.

He further said the Govt. was planning to provide subsidy through Dr. Ambedkar Development Corporation instead of through the DC’s office.

Mysuru is one of the calmest city and said to be pensioner’s paradise. People love the city for all its calmness. The love people have towards their city is amazing in each and every step. It is very bad idea of setting up an IT park here. I am sure majority of people from Mysuru like me will oppose this. I can give you some of the scenarios of what will happen if IT parks come to Mysuru. Initially people from other cities will migrate and slowly late night culture starts in city. Arrogance of people in each and every step will be observed. The city will loose its cleanliness because people from outside will neither listen to localites for cleanliness of city. The city which was loved for its peacefulness will be destroyed with in years. None of the Mysuru people are asking for any IT hubs in Mysuru. People are happy with few IT hubs in outskirts of city. None of the so called Engineers are demanding for It park in Mysuru. They are always ready to go to Bangalore or other IT cities and come back home peacefully during weekends and spend their time. Everyone are happy in Mysuru for the way it is. I request not to destroy the city by constructing these IT parks and spoil city environment. The city is loved and will be loved for the way it is now. Please don’t spoil Mysuru culture. I strongly object this and majority of people in Mysuru will object this.
