Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run case

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a farmer from Yandalli in Varuna hobli, who was crossing the road at Alanahalli Circle here, was killed, when a speeding bike hit him and sped away at the Circle here this morning. The deceased farmer has been identified as S.R. Shivanna (40), son of Shivanappa and a resident of Yandalli in Varuna hobli near here.

Shivanna, who suffered severe head injuries, was rushed to a private hospital on Bannur Road, where he was declared ‘Brought Dead’ by the doctors.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Inspector Harish Kumar and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body of Shivanna to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem. Siddarthanagar Police, who have registered a case, have lodged a hunt to nab the bike rider.
