Mysuru: People For People (PFP) had recently organised an event at J.K. Grounds as part of its ‘Sahasra Seva Utsava.’

Presiding over the programme, former MLC G. Madhusudan opined that a few NGOs under the pretext of social service were engaged in cheating and corrupt practices. He pointed out that any service should be for the society and divine in nature. He averred that no NGO should fan the flames of casteism. He commended PFP for genuine service without seeking foreign aid.

Representatives of Pinjarapole Society, Sri Sumathinath Jain Navayuvak Mandal, People For Animals, Rajendra Akshaya Patra, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatan, ISKCON Akshaya Patra, Humane Touch, Helping Hands-Kabhutar Dhan, Roti Bank- Badavara Bandhu, Jeeva Daya Charitable Trust along with snake rescuers Shyam and Rajkumar were felicitated on the occasion.

Items given by various Ashrams and rehabilitation centres in city were distributed to the needy.

MLA Vasu, former MLC Thontadarya, Journalist Hariprakash Konemane and members of PFP were present.
