People’s mad scramble to pick onions on road

September 17, 2017

Mysuru: Man craves for anything that is freely available, be it passes to IPL/KPL cricket matches, free passes to Dasara procession or other freebies. When this is the general state of things, it was no surprise to see people scrambling for onions found scattered on the road and picking them up.

A lorry laden with sacks of onions was passing by ESI Hospital on KRS Road, when an autorickshaw suddenly entered it’s path. The driver of the lorry applied brakes suddenly and as a result, the sack of onions fell open on the ground completely scattered. It was a hilarious and rather a sad sight to see the road users including two-wheeler riders and others falling over one another picking up the onions and filling them in bags, vanity bags, helmets and pant pockets, little caring for the plight of the lorry driver transporting the onions.
