Perumbadi-Makutta road opens for light vehicles

Virajpet:  The  Perumbadi-Makutta road on Konanur-Makutta State Highway, where bridges and roads were destroyed due to landslides and flood, has now been opened for light passenger vehicles. Other vehicles have to take Gonikoppal-Ponnampet-Srimangala-Kutta route.  Also, passenger tempo, single axel passenger bus and single axel light goods vehicle (weight not exceeding 18,500 kgs) will be allowed on the road from 6 am to 6 pm. Multi-axel vehicles are banned on the road.

Vehicles passing on the 23-km stretch in forest areas should not exceed 40 km speed limit and should cross the stretch in the limited time, failing which legal action would be initiated against such vehicles, says a press release from DC office.
